For our Global Mobility Section within Munich Re HR, we are looking for a Head of Section with responsibility for managing all globally relevant issues in connection with employee mobility.


Your Job:

  • Maintain the Section's status as a global centre of competence for all forms of international employee mobility in close coordination with the International Organisation
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global talent mobility strategy that supports the organisation's growth and talent development goals, including the associated governance and ensuring compliance
  • Manage the endtoend talent mobility process
  • Collaborate with Global Talent Management to design training and development programs that align with talent mobility initiatives
  • Refine globally standardised mobility policies and standards
  • Control of external interfaces, i.e. to global suppliers in connection with international employee mobility (in particular tax, social insurance, relocation, immigration)
  • Coordination with internal stakeholders, in particular local HR teams, Accounting, Controlling, Procurement and Tax
  • Ensuring professional organisation of, and support for, international staff transfers, specifically:
  • Organisation of international assignments and extended business trips within the Reinsurance Group
  • Holding international assignment conversations and negotiations (remuneration, fringe benefits, family accompaniment, etc.) with staff who are taking up international assignments in line with applicable Groupwide policies
  • Ongoing support for employees during their international assignment abroad
  • Advising local HR managers on staff transfers to Munich or to another Business Unit
  • Heading and managing the Section

Your Profile:


  • Completed university degree course, ideally in Economics or Law
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant professional experience in the area of international employee mobility and talent management
  • Knowledge of international tax and social insurance
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Highly developed social skills with a strong focus on solutions and implementation, along with the ability to manage, optimise and streamline processes, particularly in an international context
  • Negotiation skills and determination
  • Strong commitment and the ability to cope under pressure
  • Fluent business English and German
