What you will do
- Research and development in the field of optical communications and communication networks
- Automation of optical access networks in conjunction with metro transport networks
- Design, development, and experimental validation of machine learning pipelines together with advanced telemetry streaming workflows
- Research on privacypreserving machine learning algorithms
- Development of network APPs for autonomous monitoring and maintenance of optical communication networks
- Presentation of R&D results in the form of project reports, presentations, and journal articles
What you bring to the table
- University degree / master studies in the field of communications engineering, computer science, or related fields
- Excellent background in machine learning and handson experience with various libraries
- Excellent programming skills in Python
- Background in IP and optical networking technologies (switches and routers)
- Experience with databases and cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
The following knowledge is an advantage:
- Experience with network programmability and protocols (e.g. NETCONF, gRPC, gNMI)
- Experience with SDN controllers and network orchestrators
- Experience with Apache Kafka, Influx, Grafana
