Privacy and Information Security Counsel (f/m/d) EMEA

This position will be located at our facility in Putzbrunn near Munich with work from home days possible as part of a hybrid arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

Exhibit strong collaboration with global, crossdivisional and crossdisciplinary teams, such as privacy compliance, contracting, clinical trials, procurement, information technology, and information security.
Provide legal advice to internal clients, aligned with business objectives, which help navigate the regulatory requirements associated with operating global businesses
Develop and deliver training for Associates on legal issues, compliance policies and applicable ethical codes of conduct
Work within the Legal Regulatory Subject Matter Group and with other legal and functional teams to develop and improve tools and processes for the delivery of legal and regulatory services.
Assist or lead investigations, including incident/breach response, and resolve reports of alleged regulatory noncompliance; advise on the development and implementation of appropriate corrective action plans
Ability to navigate in a dynamic, crossfunctional, multicultural, and multinational environment with both local and remote teams with quickly changing priorities and multiple tasks
Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
Demonstrate an understanding and willingness to support the Gore culture

Required Qualifications:

Completed law degree, admitted to practice German law as necessary to fulfil the role with a minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience
Demonstrated knowledge of European data protection laws and regulations, including a familiarity with new and emerging requirements; Demonstrated understanding of global data protection requirements
Demonstrated experience in reviewing and negotiating data protection provisions in contracts, e.g. Data processing agreements
Demonstrated experience in supporting activities related to clinical trials
Demonstrated understanding of information security requirements and frameworks, e.g., NIST, ISO.
Demonstrated ability to manage advice from outside counsel and convey information to internal clients
Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills. Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks/projects. Strong advocacy and influencing skills, including the ability to help bring people with diverse positions to a common view
Fluent in English and German/French/Spanish/Italian
Ability to travel up to 20% primarily in the Europe; global travel may be required occasionally

Desired Qualifications:

Privacy or Information Security certification, e.g., CIPP, CISSP
Additional language fluency
