Your Role:


You will lead the search and evaluation process to identify and assess pre-clinical and clinical stage opportunities for inbound partnering (licensing/M&A) in the Neurology and Immunology therapeutic area (TA).


The search & evaluation lead will work with competitive intelligence analysts to identify new areas of innovation and growth opportunities across the TA value chain.

You will scout, and benchmark new inorganic opportunities based on solid TA expertise to select and prioritize opportunities for further evaluation.

You will lead focused cross-functional R&D teams involved in the early evaluation of partnering opportunities to develop key questions for further evaluation.

You will work closely with business development to drive the early evaluation to a go/no recommendation for a deep due diligence.

You will evaluate external opportunities with standards that ensure consistency between internal and external projects.

You will ensure effective handover to the respective due diligence lead taking over after initial evaluation and you will support until completion of the project.


You will be scouting for new licensing opportunities by contributing to systematic screens, attending conferences, participating in scientific/clinical congresses, and maintaining a strong network in the scientific/clinical and the biotech/pharma/VC community.

You may support outbound partnering/externalization as appropriate.

**Who you are: - MD, PhD or Pharm D degree

  • Detailed understanding of the pharmaceutical drug discovery/development process, with minimum 7 years preclinical and/or clinical development experience
  • In depth knowledge of neurology/immunology from either a research or clinical/translational background. Additional background in cardiovascular, metabolism & endocrinology or fertility is a plus.
  • Experience in search and evaluation or competitive intelligence
  • Business acumen needed, experience in BD, VC, biotech or consulting is a plus
  • Ability to build effective working relationships within a short period of time
  • Experience in leading crossfunctional teams
  • Strong project management, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in an intense, fast paced, matrixed, multinational work environment
  • Demonstrated experience in positioning and presentation, (negotiation/deal structuring experience a plus)
