What's the role?:

Hilti - Internet of Things (IoT) services encompass the collection, processing, and redirection of tool data to enable business use cases for our customers' efficiency, which is our value proposition towards our customers.

As the IT Architect, you will be the technical owner, and drive the solution design of our Global IoT Platform that serves as the foundation for Hilti's data driven products and services.

Built on state-of-the-art and cloud-native technology, you ensure the continuous evolution of the solution to meet ever changing customers' need as well as new technology trends.

You will be partnering with Hilti business stakeholders to discuss new ideas for IoT-enabled use cases to provide a differentiating customer experience.

What does the role involve?:Designing, implementing and leveraging the components and services of the underlying cloud platform to ensure a seamless IoT data processing including automation of related processing pipelines

Shaping and further developing the existing IoT architecture, for this solid know-how on IoT reference architectures ( and IoT open standards (e.g. IoT data communication protocols spanning across from the sensor level to later data analytics) is essential

Propose alternate solution designs and make high-level estimation that empower us in finding the right balance between innovation, technical feasibility, long-term sustainability, agile delivery, and cost-effectiveness.

Use well-architected framework and design patterns to ensure best practices in our solutions especially around security, performance, cost, monitoring and automation.

Be convinced and committed to the solution, drive changes with adaptive communication and effective stakeholder management (e.g. business partners, other architects, enterprise architects, security and legal team)

Work with architects from other areas on cross-functional solutions and actively contribute to the architects' guild knowledge base.

Provide 2nd/3rd level support and consultation for the solutions together with our business partners, operations and development team.

Continuously explore new architectures, technologies, and solutions, run Proof of Concepts and drive technical change on Hilti Cloud IoT Platform

What you need is:

At least 5 years of proven experience in cloud software development technologies such as microservices, eventdriven and serverless architecture, build on AWS or any public cloud
Passionate about cloud service design and exploring new technologies
Experience working with IoT ecosystem is an advantage
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to connect with both business and technical counterparts
