For the Containerships head office in Hamburg we are recruiting a Senior Group Accountant (M/F/d).


This is a key finance reporting role responsible for coordinating and controlling work of other finance team members and providing timely and relevant consolidated financial reporting to the company head office abroad.


Your responsibilities include:


Responsible for the Fixed Asset accounting, especially:
Decision on capitalization of supplier invoices

Balance sheet reconciliation/preparation of roll-forward schedules

Impairment tests and re-evaluations, if needed

Posting IFRS restatements, including IFRS 16

Control on depreciations runs

Management of all Treasury Management Accounts ("TMA" - Cash Pooling) in place with CMA CGM HO as well as the Containerships subsidiary network:
Reconciliation of all TMA accounts

Calculation of monthly / quarterly interest on intercompany balances

Intercompany nettings

Currency management with subsidiaries

Reconciliation of cash split and posting all securitisation related fees, income and accruals, recording receivables pool under the securitisaion program

Monthly reconciliation of Finance Result (local GAAP vs. IFRS)

Preparation of monthly reporting in Onestream

Ensuring alignment of trial balance and adjustments

Preparing a montly equity reconcilliation with full coments

Explanations of adjustments between local and IFRS

Ensuring preparation and submission on a timely manner to deadlines

Managing HO queries and maianing a relationship with CMA CGM

Review of Foreign Currency re-evaluations made

Assist Senior Accountant with required tasks

Any other tasks as required


You bring aboard:

5+ years work experience in financial reporting

University degree (e.g. Management, Economics), an additional accounting certification is a plus

Business fluency in English, German is a plus

Solid knowledge of German GAAP and IFRS reporting principles

Strong MS Office skills, especially expert Excel knowledge

Ability to work efficiently in a team in a multi-national environment

Ability to work with a mínimal supervision and to take responsibility

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Resilience to deal with complex and critical issues

Ability to prioritise workload while keeping deadlines
