Job Description Summary
The Sr. Staff Relations Specialist is responsible for leading and managing projects, programs and online systems. The Sr.
Staff Relations Specialist will work with the various University resource offices such as the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Programs, the Title IX Office and the Office of the Omsbud.

Job Responsibilities
- Consults with and advises managers and staff on a wide range of workrelated issues, including but not limited, to performance management, conflict resolution, organizational restructuring, and staff leaves. Consults with managers to make recommendations to enhance and maintain positive employee relations and high productivity.
- Provides analysis and advice to management and staff regarding general human resources policies and procedures and related employment laws and regulations.
- Lead special projects, including but not limited to such areas as performance management, policy development, conflict management, exit interviews, and other areas.
- Administers all staff relations programs such as staff grievance procedure, performance appraisal and introductory review programs and progressive disciplinary processes
- Conducts job evaluations and salary reviews based on market data using compensation systems. Make recommendations to management by analyzing and evaluating positions and recommending appropriate graded and salary. Writes and edits job descriptions as necessary
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible and varied experience in the human resources field. SHRM certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations with knowledge of federal, state and local laws. Good employee relations, conflict resolution, project management and coaching skills required.
- Demonstrated experience in leading, implementing and managing projects and programs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, develop and implement a wide range of human resources programs independently and in collaboration with other HR professionals.

Hybrid Eligible - This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule with a work week divided between working onsite and working remotely.
