We are looking for an experienced Logistics Compliance Specialist to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.

The role is a part of our passionate recycling team Revolt, and the role will be based at our Germany head office in Hamburg.

By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing and ramping up our recycling activities in Europe.


About the job

The long-term goal for our team is to develop and ramp a best-in-class recycling process to supply Northvolt's battery production with 50% recycled materials by 2030.

To achieve this, an enormous amount of battery waste materials will need to be secured, stored and transported across Europe.

Revolt has already started these activities and are now looking to further expand our expertise within hazardous waste handling and corresponding regulatory framework while ensuring efficient and compliant operations.

The team already has expertise within this field for the Nordics, but is now looking to expand to Europe with a primary focus on Germany.


About the team


The Revolt team currently consists of about 100 people and is in a strong growth phase, as we are getting prepared for starting operations of our first industrial recycling plant Revolt Ett in Skellefteå in 2023.

The team is currently spread across three sites; at the head quarter in Stockholm, at our industrial recycling plant in Skellefteå and at our R&D Pilot plant in Västerås.

We are now expanding the Revolt team to our next giga-factory site based in Heide and our German head office in Hamburg.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Act as internal advisor and main contact point for any matters related to waste shipment regulations and dangerous goods handling

  • Be an expert in Waste Regulations, Waste Shipment Regulations, Dangerous Goods Regulations in relation to batteries and battery materials
  • Advice on classification of waste and dangerous goods
  • Be responsible for Notifications for domestic shipments (EN) and transboundary shipments
  • Keep updated on regulatory framework development in Germany and Europe and drive dialogue with authorities in relation to industryspecific aspects
Develop process and routines to ensure a compliant and efficient logistic process

  • Translate regulations into actionable requirements for the organization (logistics, operations, purchasing,) and guide the team in its implementation
  • Develop routines and guidelines related to notifications, shipment documentation, logistic suppliers selection, etc. enabling a more efficient process in accordance to regulations
  • Ensure compliance of packaging, labelling, documentations etc.

Skills & Requirements


We believe that you have:


  • A degree in BSc/MSc in Engineering or other relevant degree
  • 5+ years working experience with logistics of hazardous waste / dangerous goods in Germany
  • Native/fluent in German
  • Excellent English written and oral skills

Bonus points for:


  • Experience and interest in recycling / manufacturing industry
  • Experience from battery industry, and specifically Liion batteries
  • Experience in Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Waste in other EU countries than Germany
  • Fluency in other European languages
  • Experience from a multicultural environment
