Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Product Line Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business.

Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory and liaising with management.

The Product Line Buyer will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions.

As Product Line Buyer you should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills. Knowledge of sales and marketing principles is advantageous. This position is based in Lichtenfels.

Essential Responsibilities

Being the single point of contact for all Sourcing relevant topics of the dedicated product line within the entire lifecycle
Managing the change management process of the product line from a Sourcing perspective
Report status of all Sourcing relevant issues to project teams and make sure commitments are heldin at every project gate
Responsibility for the total cost of the BOM of the relevant product line to make sure annual cost targets of the relevant product line are met overall
Leading ideas and initiatives in order to improve the BOM costs of the relevant product line
Identify the need for new suppliers and drive sourcing decisions under Total Costs of Ownership aspects in collaboration with Commercial Buyers
Organize supplier meetings with focus on product line and manage information flow within Sourcing department
Planning of demands for the relevant product line and regularly communicate changes in demand to the Commercial Buyers
Communicate and drive requirements and project time plans towards suppliers and involve critical suppliers in the early project phase
Monitoring of material deliveries of the dedicated product line in close cooperation with the Operational Buyers
Collaborate with other functions within the company in defining standardized components
Escalation point for product lines on incidents with suppliers
Ensure regular and fluent information exchange within the Sourcing Organization and with other relevant functions
Responsibility for special tasks when given by Management

Qualification/Requirements

Bachelor ́s / Master ́s degree in Engineering or Commercial / Business Administration or equivalent professional experience
Profound experience in a hightech oriented manufacturing/development environment in Sourcing positions
Eloquent oral and written communication skills in German and English
