About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Principal UX/UI Designer to work with project leads on the design efforts for Ready Upgrade (Mainstream Version), a key initiative at Harman Automotive that transforms vehicles into modern electronic devices, delivering advanced features and services throughout the vehicle's lifespan.
What You Will Do
- Design with a usercentered approach, to create visually appealing and functional UX/UI designs that provide an optimal user experience.
- Present and communicate UX/UI design concepts through compelling brandrelated presentations, supported by wireframes, prototypes, and highfidelity mockups to marketing, brand managers, and customers.
- Collaborate with research colleagues, utilizing user journeys and other UX research methods to inform UX/UI design modifications for Auto One, our internal platform showcasing Harman Automotive products.
- Take responsibility for UX/UI projects, including delivering compelling presentations to stakeholders across various locations to communicate UX/UI design concepts.
- Work closely with design team members and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and alignment with brand design guidelines.
- Developing UX/UI design assets, such as design systems, component libraries, and style guides, to ensure consistency and scalability across platforms and products.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with developers to maintain design intent whilst accommodating software and hardware constraints.
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other team members, as well as customer or supplier contacts, to ensure effective crossfunctional collaboration.
- Equivalent education level required: Bachelor's degree, certificate in UX/UI Design, or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of usercentered design principles, design thinking methodologies, and incorporating feedback from usability testing into designs.
- Experience working in distributed teams across different locations and time zones.
- Ability to effectively communicate design ideas through wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch and project management tools such as JIRA.
- Understanding of brand values and design language, and an ability to translate them into digital experiences that align with customer needs and business objectives.
- Experience working in the automotive industry and appreciation for the complexity of the design challenges.
- Resultsoriented and highly motivated team player with a proven track record of success.
- A background in motion work and storyboarding and an understanding of timebased UI in different driving and driver scenarios.
- Passionate about design
- Advanced knowledge of English, and proficiency in other languages is a plus
- Passion for music, with a deep understanding of its importance in the automotive industry and how it relates to design considerations.
