We are seeking a motivated colleague to join the Data Science Frankfurt group.

The position is located at the Clinic for Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Therapy (KAIS) under the leadership of Professor Zacharowski (MD PhD ML FRCA FESAIC), in cooperation with the Institute for Biostatistics and Mathematical Modeling under the leadership of Professor Eva Hermann (PhD) at the University Hospital Frankfurt, starting from the earliest possible date.

Your role

  • You will work independently on your doctoral dissertation project in the thematic field of the clinic.
  • You will participate in research activities of the clinic. In addition to your publications within the scope of your dissertation, you will provide support for research proposals and projects of the clinic.
  • You will develop and adapt new methods to improve the analysis and design of our studies.
  • You will habe close collaboration in the design, analysis and publication of research studies with various collaboration partners.
  • You will participate in teaching activities of the clinic or the institute for biostatistics.
Who you are

  • You have completed university degree (master ́s or comparable) in statistics (biometrics, econometrics, psychometrics), mathematics, computer sciences, machine learning, or a closely related field with a strong focus on quantitative methods.
  • You have excellent knowledge of classification and regression models, especially multivariate regression, (multilevel) logistic regression,treebased methods (e.g. random forest, gradient boosting and timeseries analysis).
  • You have excellent knowledge in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, R, SAS).
  • You have the willingness to pursue a doctorate.
  • You manage and communicate conflicts constructively and empathically.
  • Your strengths include organizational skills, structured writing, and convincing presentations.
  • Very good proficiency in German and Englisch expression.
  • Due to legal regulations, an employmnet relationship may only be entered by people who have a valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required.
