You will be a member of the Security Governance team.

Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that technology used at the ECB meets all security requirements while remaining as user-friendly as possible.

You will help raise security awareness at the ECB and provide guidance on digital security to colleagues in other divisions.

Managing digital security risks is a key aspect of corporate governance at the ECB, and you will work with other corporate governance functions such as operational risk management, physical security, information management and internal audit.

Your role

  • As a Digital Security Expert you will:
  • advise business areas on how to balance functionality, usability and security;
- perform security risk analyses and assessments together with IT and business experts;
- identify opportunities to mitigate risk and propose practical ways to improve security;
- draft security policies and standards;
- communicate on digital security topics in an interesting and engaging way (e.g. when participating in the team's security awareness initiatives);
- work with colleagues from national central banks to foster digital security within the European System of Central Banks.

You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.

If you thrive in a multicultural environment, and you are passionate about digital security risk management, you may be the right person to join us

- in addition to the above, a minimum of three and ideally five or more years of experience in the field of digital and information security, with tasks and responsibilities relevant to the role described above;
- a solid understanding of the concepts and methods of information security risk management;
- a sound technical knowledge of digital security;
- excellent drafting skills;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Desired:
- experience in information security risk management;
- experience in communicating digital security topics to both experts and non-experts;
- experience in drafting security policies and standards;
- experience with ISO 27001/2, IRAM2 or IRMv3;
- security certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, CEH and OSCP.

You engage collaboratively with others. You pursue team goals and learn willingly from other people's diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. You analyse complex information effectively and can evaluate different views to arrive at solutions. You know and anticipate stakeholder needs.

You are motivated to contribute to the ECB's mission, to serve the citizens of the EU as a member of a public institution and to work with colleagues from all over Europe.

You are motivated to be part of our team and to develop and use your skills and competencies to achieve the aims of this position.
