About the team:

SAP is investing in Munich and expanding its collaboration with universities and the ecosystem.

Within SAP Labs Munich, the newly initiated Industry-University Collaboration hub has a focus on applied research and co-innovation with universities, especially TU Munich, to create positive impact on the economy and society.

In your daily research and development tasks you will work closely together with the PSSP Team within S/4 HANA Cloud Product Management who drive the delivery of End-to-End scenarios for Component Manufacturers in S/4 HANA Cloud.

Their mission is to cover their component manufacturer business model end to end with SAP S/4HANA Cloud by providing pre-configured scenarios, using additional software pieces to enhance their business capabilities to grow and scale their business with SAP software.

The team is also looking for technical solutions to restructure existing business content with the help of AI technology.

This will simplify the customer adoption process because SAP is adapting itself programmatically to the business process-oriented view of the customers.

Customizing Parameters determine the target state of S/4HANA / S/4HANA Cloud that is individually required by each customer.

The target state represents a combination of solution capabilities that enable and determine the document flow in the S/4HANA system.

The document flow represents the business processes of a company.

In this project, a data analysis pipeline for the semantic analysis of text files containing information of customizing parameters used in S/4HANA / S/4HANA Cloud systems shall be developed.

The pipeline will contain a tool to extract the data from SAP systems (already implemented) and a model to semantically analyze and cluster the extracted data according to frequently used patterns and similarities.

The clusters shall be transformed into semantic categories of commonly used and recognizable business terms, which can later be applied as input for a recommender system.

In this role, you'll:

Create an overview of eligible stateoftheart algorithms for such a model of semantic data analysis and clustering. The overview should contain a rating based on their applicability to the data and purpose in question.
Implement the pipeline consisting of the existing data extraction tool and the most eligible algorithm for the semantic data analysis.
Test the pipeline in internal SAP systems.
Expand pipeline for usage in different SAP systems/customer systems.

Who you are:

You are a student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences.

Preferred fields of study: Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering
Language skills: fluent in both German and English
Knowledge about SAP systems and customizing is a plus
Experience in data analysis, machine learning, algorithms recommended
Programming languages: Python, Julia
