Precision for Medicine are hiring a Procurement & Inventory Specialist based on site in Berlin.


Position Summary:


The Procurement & Inventory Specialist is responsible for all financial and administrative aspects of Procurement and Inventory Control and will work closely with other departments to support lab operations.


Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

  • Verify accuracy of item descriptions, internal codes and pricing for procurement
  • Identify products based on clients/ operations needs
  • Prepare and submit orders for supplies by compiling necessary information and records to prepare for procurement, g. among others, identification of substitutes, obtainment of certification
  • Responsible for selecting, evaluating, and managing of (new) vendors
  • Provide metrics, performance evaluations and feedback for vendor business reviews
  • Assess, establish and/or raise the need for vendor discounts
  • Receive raw material into Inventory system
  • Review inventory records and warehouse to determine if materials in stock are in sufficient quantity in accordance with quality requirements
  • Participate in cycle counts according to scheduled frequency
  • Participate in quality or internal audits/ investigations as required, such as product recalls
  • Take financial account of expired stock items
  • Use lean methodology to assist in process improvements to reduce leadtime and eliminate nonvalue add activities
  • Participate in audits and internal investigations, as necessary
  • Collaborate with other Precision facilities to provide support, as necessary
  • Carry out other related tasks/duties as assigned

Qualifications:


  • Minimum Required:_
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • 2+ years relevant working experience with Purchasing and Inventory Control in Life Science
  • Other Required:_
  • Familiar with procurement and inventory management practices
  • Good attention to detail, good communication skills, must work well in a group environment as well as prove the ability to work independently
  • Must be a flexible, agile team player who can change activities and directions quickly and respond to a variety of assignments and changing business needs
  • Strong problem solving and reasoning skills to effectively deal with problems varying in complexity relative to job level
  • Must be able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English language
