Head of Medical Affairs, Adult Vaccines (m/w/d):

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy of GSK's Adult Vaccines portfolio.
  • Leads and develops a group of Medical Advisors in the portfolio and agrees with them objectives and key results.
  • Provides strategic input and secures early involvement for one of the most relevant global vaccine markets into new vaccine developments as well as for lifecycle management of existing vaccines especially about necessary evidence generation plans.
  • Is a member of relevant lead teams in the portfolio and is responsible for the implementation of medically relevant projects, amongst others is part of the German Medical Vaccines lead team and serves as primary medical representative in the local commercial business unit lead team.
  • Represents the German Medical Organization in regional and global Medical, Product Development, Leadership Teams, and other task forces as necessary.
  • Ensures close crossfunctional collaboration especially with commercial functions in marketing and sales, but also with counterparts within medical, government affairs and market access as well as clinical research.
  • Oversees the creation and execution of medical plans and ensures cocreation with global and relevant local business teams.
  • Is responsible for the continuous scientific analysis of the vaccine environment and makes proposals for strategies and ensures their implementation and tracks execution.
  • Is as Information officer responsible for the correctness and medical review of the content of promotional materials.

Basic Qualifications:

  • We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:_
  • University degree of M.D/PhD (equivalent) with pharmaceutical industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area.
  • Several years of professional experience in Medical Affairs in Global, Regional or Country Pharmaceutical functions with deep understanding of the German environment.
  • Strong experience of developing and delivering medical strategic plans.
  • Proven skills in driving a vision, setting ambitious objectives, and tracking progress of key outcomes as well as gathering information, negotiation, decisionmaking and communicating decisions and action plans.
  • Proven to be able to provide leadership to an own team as well as in a matrix structure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, motivational and interpersonal skills, and high degree of fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:_
  • Track record of successful project management and overall budget responsibility with a strong background of building a network of experts, preparing, and leading advisory boards and collaborating with healthcare organizations.
  • Understanding of medical governance with experience of effectively managing risk and compliance issues.
  • Selfinitiated, selfmotivated with strong communication skills and willing to take accountability, contribute own ideas and give decisive impulses to teams on national, regional, and global level.
  • Proven deep understanding of how medical and commercial teams interact successfully, as well as understanding of market access, pharmacovigilance, and vaccine development process.
