Job Description Summary:

Scope of the role:

Responsibilities:

Ensure a safe working environment for the team
Identify and evaluate EHS risks in own area and implement practical safety measures
Leadership and Management of the Systems Engineering team in Germany
Training and development of the System Engineering Team in Germany
Ensure Delivery of System Engineering scope in conjunction with Systems Eng Functional Managers.
Support correct level of Quality of the teams deliverables (documentation & engineering product)
Support a 'Lean' approach and culture within the team and drive the team to committed cost and time savings
Recruitment, development and people reviews for the team
Develop and maintain KPIs for the team
Support team in resolving challenging technical issues
Proactive interaction with other Systems eng /Engineering departments for product definition
Foster an environment of knowledge sharing and mentoring within the team

Previous experience preferred in the following areas:

Leadership and management of an engineering team
Management of technical issues both internally and with client
Strong integration with other stakeholders

An enquiring mind and desire to learn new skills and a willingness to share the knowledge are essential qualities.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Educated to degree level in Power System or equivalent degree.

Required Characteristics:

Take a proactive approach to ensuring Health & Safety is paramount, including conducting Risk Assessments
EHS compliance capability
Strong communication skills
Excellent organization and leadership skills
Prior experience of electrical transmission or related industries

Attention to process and detail to ensure quality of teams deliverables
Accurate planning and drive to achieve on time delivery
Be able to work both independently and as part of a team
Desire to challenge the way we work and seek improvements
