As the Head of Engineering (d/f/m), you will lead the implementation of new features and products in a state-of-the-art development team and processes.

We work with new technologies and architectures, our backend is built with PHP for stability and maintenance. Our mobile app is built using the React Native Framework.

Your mission is to build and lead a fast, efficient and effective engineering team to enable to achieve its ambition to become a leading solution provider to the insurances and help millions of users live an active life.

Tasks

Be the mastermind of our multitenant cloud architecture and infrastructure
Lead, manage and coach our engineering team
Select, design, build and run stable, scalable and secure solutions that are in line with business objectives
Provide time and cost estimates for new features or products
Advise product owners and stakeholders on technical feasibility of their ideas
Prepare ITrelated proposals for the CEO, decision makers and clients
Be handson where needed, ranging from helping the engineering team to meet release dates, resolve bugs, investigate live issues
Ensure timely delivery of features
Enhance QA automation and code quality
Work with team to align tech strategy with business and product strategy
Participate in strategic meetings, e.g. business sprints, risk management, investor meetings,
Grow our international tech team of currently 7+ developers (onsite and remote) in cooperation with our HR&Recruiting department

Requirements:

7+ years experience in software development with various programming languages
Passion for highquality code and efficient development processes
Experience developing products on a modern tech stack such as: Javascript, NodeJS, Typescript, PHP, Postgres, Kafka, TDD, Docker, AWS, Postgres, ORM and Continuous Integration
Proven experience in building and managing tech teams (onsite and remote)
Experience in designing tech architecture, new features or cloud infrastructure
Strong ability to gather and understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements as well as communicating to stakeholders
Experience with agile development methods (e.g., Scrum)
Analytic, pragmatic and entrepreneurial mindset with high motivation and a reliable, independent work style
Strong understanding of stateoftheart data security mechanisms experiences with designing and implementing secure backends that comply with data privacy regulations and GDPR
Fluent written and spoken English skills, German language skills are a plus
Familiarity with the eHealth and InsurTech industry
