The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

  • Support for generation of new business opportunities
  • Provide support to identify and originate Project & Export Finance transactions from European sponsors, borrowers and exporters (with specific focus on Germany, Switzerland and Austria) that target our footprint markets;
  • Plan and implement marketing activities in assigned markets (Germany, Switzerland and Austria) and following through on lead generations;
  • Provide support to manage and develop relationships with identified European Export Credit Agencies (with focus on Euler-Hermes, SERV and OeKB), Multilaterals (if any) and DFI (such as DEG) to understand their policies and product program. Deliver ECA/ML/DFI structures to clients.
  • Work across product groups in Global Credit Markets and Transaction Banking to cross sell other banking solutions
  • Develop relationships with key individuals at exporters, aggregators, ECAs, borrowers and project sponsors
  • Independently lead deal teams and ensure business opportunities and transactions are developed and executed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Support SEF regional heads and PF regional heads in originating and tracking opportunities in target markets
  • Manage deal credit approval process efficiently and effectively and establish a good reputation for the PEF business with Credit within the Group and SCB AG

Business

  • Support origination (from sponsors and exporter clients), development, marketing, negotiation and lead execution of Project & Export Finance transactions with special focus on SEF transactions (loan arranger and advisory mandates) in relation to European sponsors / exporters (with specific focus German speaking markets).
  • Support the wider SEF team (in particular, inbound market SEF team)
  • Use of Export Credit Agency, Multilateral and DFI products and risk mitigation techniques to reduce credit and funding risks in both existing and future assets;
  • Actively engage with the global/regional ECAs/MDB/DFIs to develop new structures and usage of new products introduced by these institutions
  • Adherence to and promotion of Group and SCB AG governance, compliance and risk standards
  • Liaise with SCB AG stakeholders regarding budgeting/planning and booking purposes

Processes

  • Proactive engagement with clients and timely delivery of relevant market intelligence. Respond to client requests in a timely manner.
  • Role involves work with clients to execute trades in line with SCB AG and Group policies and procedures
  • Manage the SCB AG SEF processes ensuring compliance with applicable internal policies, appropriate laws and regulations (ensuring we remain within our risk tolerances and risk appetite)
  • Accountable for ensuring frameworks and operational infrastructures are in place to enable the business to be efficient, appropriate and complaint with internal policies, procedures, codes and applicable external laws and regulations
  • Drive improvement of our operational efficiency and processes
  • Manage appropriate Service level agreements
  • Maintain active engagement with key internal stakeholders

  • Build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and sharing best practice

Risk Management

  • Engage Risk and Legal & Compliance as appropriate to escalate items relating to Risk Management
  • Ensure that origination is carried out within the Group's risk appetite and reputational and credit risks are appropriately managed in conjunction with other stakeholders

Governance

  • Adherence to all SCB AG and Group policies and relevant legislation covering credit risk, operational risk, and reputational risk among others
  • Commitment to Group code of conduct
  • Ensure individual, and team as appropriate, have timely completion of all eLearning, attestations and requests for information. Be complaint with block leave requirements
  • Resolves any audit issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • Accountable for escalation and /or remedial action from Loan Syndicate & Distribution, Europe and/or other Group governance committees or stakeholders in senior management, risk or control functions.
