Venture Team
Our venture team OpteinicsTM is developing the leading environmental footprinting software for the food industry.

We are a purpose-driven start-up with a mission to empower everyone in the food industry to make food more sustainable.

Our customers are already able to calculate, report and reduce the environmental impact of their products in a credible and certified software system.

Commercialized as Software as a Service (SaaS) and with an early-stage venture team, we want to push the product and team to the next level.

We are looking for our Head of Technology (all genders) to join our growing team.

You will work with an ambitious founding team to build a scalable, high-growth digital venture that will shape the future of food sustainability.

Your role

You lead the technical development of our product roadmap with all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, strategic planning, design/architecture, development, execution, deployment, and maintenance.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable code.
Implement best practices in software development and ensure highquality code through reviews.
Build quality assurance and data protection processes, ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
You are responsible for growing the technical team. This also includes managing interactions with our partners (e.

g:
freelancers, 3rd party developers,).

Your offer

Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience and ideally with first startup experience.
You are a passionate programmer and IT architect and have managed and led a team of frontend and backend developers in your career.
Experience in developing B2B platforms or SaaS business models.
Indepth knowledge of web systems architecture, design, and development with strategic sense.
You have very good knowledge and understanding of and frameworks available for it, such as
Strong understanding of
Solid experience & understanding of graph database concepts (eg. Neo4j).
Proficiency in database design, optimization, and management. Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
You have experience with agile product development (Jira, Confluence, Github, Scrum/Kanban).
Willing to come to the office in Mannheim once or twice a week at the beginning.
Fluent in English, and at least one more European language (preferably German).
