Do you strive to understand how electronics work, are you passionate about solving technical problems and do you enjoy having technical exchange with customers? If so, a Thesis in a Technical Sales Team focusing on Industrial Applications may be the role for you.

This Thesis is giving you a first kick start to become a broad technical TI expert with customer engineers and internal teams, and to teach you how functional product characteristics correlate to system-level requirements.

Demonstrate your technical competency on product selection, systems, implementation and debug, as you prepare for a career as a Field Applications Engineer.

The topic of the Thesis can be adjusted together with your Mentor who will coach you during your time at TI.


Thesis in Field Application Engineering:

  • Development of a PID Controller based on a MSPM0 microcontroller
  • Temperature Sensing based on thermistor
  • Control of a brushless DC motor by PWM and Motor driver or a fan with PWM control
  • Close collaboration with cross functional Teams to select the right devices
  • Technical Presentation of the solution in front of a customer

Minimum Requirements:


  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
  • Basic understanding of semiconductors, schematics, electrical systems and analog components
  • Knowledge and understanding of analog circuitry (examples include: opamps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Basics of Microcontroller Programming
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills with competitive mindset and a resultfocus
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills alongside with ability to work in cross functional teams and building strong relationships internally as well as externally
  • Time management skills / ability to prioritize among tasks and ability to constantly adapt to a changing environment
  • Be passionate about solving technical challenges and enjoy to have technical conversations with external and internal counterparts
