The new Global Clients/North America-Specialty Reinsurance and Canada team is responsible for the development of Munich Re's specialty business (Marine, Aviation and Contingency worldwide and Agriculture within our department) as well as the Property and Casualty reinsurance business in Canada.

The set-up of our department is truly international, with core specialty teams in Munich and many specialty colleagues spread around various offices of the International Organisation.

Our targets are ambitious; we aim to keep a market-leading position in Canada and to position Munich Re as the leading provider for specialty (re)insurance solutions.

To get there, a culture of result accountability, business development passion, innovation and collaboration with the wider Munich Re community is key.

Your job

Assuming temporary responsibility for the underwriting of Aviation treaty reinsurance business for international/worldwide exposures
Negotiating with clients and brokers on the basis of our underwriting authorities
Contributing to successful treaty renewals
Administrating reinsurance treaties and monitoring (accumulation) exposure in our IT systems (Munich Re's reporting and underwriting systems)
Providing an excellent level of service to internal and external clients
Establishing relationships with brokers and cedents
Developing line of business knowledge

Profile:

Experience in underwriting of treaty reinsurance business (Property and/or Casualty; Specialty lines knowhow is an advantage)
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Working selfsufficient, accurately and reliably with high affinity to work in teams
Confident, engaging manner, very good negotiation skills and a strong client focus
Knowledge of IT tools (O365, Munich Re reporting and TPS)
Willingness to take responsibility and make decisions
Strong written and verbal communication in English (German languages skills are an advantage)
Located in Munich
