Über Mohammad Khazali:
I am studying the neural basis of human memory
Erfahrung
Postdoctoral Researcher in neural basis of human memory Since March 2021
Epilepsy Center, Freiburg University Hospital, Freiburg - Germany
- Carrying out fundamental experiments to elucidate the neural mechanisms underlying human memory using single-neuron recordings, intracranial EEG, direct brain stimulation and analyzing recorded data.
- Managing and sharing the data with our collaborators and present results in meetings and conferences.
Postdoctoral Researcher in neurophysiology and behavior Apr 2017 – March 2021
Center for Neural Science, New York University, New York - USA
- Developed and utilized hardware (CAD) and software tools in Matlab and Python to conduct multimodal neural recordings during visual guided look (eye tracking) and reach (touch and joints tracking) behavior.
- Analyzed the behavioral and neural data (Single-units, LFPs, ECoG) applying spectral and coherence analysis, multi-dimensional reduction (PCA, SVD, LDA), regression analysis, and generalized linear models.
- Applied statistical validation using hypothesis testing, permutation testing, multicomparisons correction.
Neuroscience Mentor Jun 2018 –Jun 2020
Center for Neural Science, New York University, New York - USA
- Mentor inNYU BrainWaves program, where students learn to carry out original brain experiments using EEG equipment in the classroom. There, I received the NYU BrainWaves Prize for mentors.
PhD Student Researcher Jan 2011 - Mar 2017
Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research, Tübingen University, Tübingen - Germany
- Designed and coded interactive setup which integrates visual stimulus, eye tracking, perceptual responses and neural recordings using Python.
- Designed and conducted experiments to study eye movement and motion sickness in humans. I analyzed the data using Matlab, and discovered a new type of eye movement. Due to this work I won “The 2017 Trainee Professional Development Award“given by the Society of Neuroscience, San Diego - USA, 2017.
Research Assistant - Internship May 2010 - Dec 2010
Medical Psychology and Neurobiology Institute, Tübingen University, Tübingen - Germany
- Optimized the signal processing, data analysis pipeline applied on EEG recordings using Matlab.
Master Thesis Sep 2009 - Apr 2010
Hochschule Furtwangen University, VS Schwenningen - Germany
- Applied model based analysis of static versus dynamic respiratory system adaptation in Matlab.
