Our Profile:

ANTS searches and analyses in research and teaching for solutions and methods to make anthropogenic material flows recyclable.

Thus, we aim to develop a raw material management at the product and material level as well as to demonstrate and to implement it by means of practical examples.

With its previous expertise, the department is one of the leading research institutions in Europe in the field of mechanical and sensor-based processing technology.

The institute combines the modelling and evaluation of recycling processes with a view to entire product systems and life cycles in the context of a circular economy and complements this expertise with technical implementation and demonstration.


Your Profile:

- and energy-efficient circular economy (CE). The aim of ReVise-UP is to improve the process efficiency of post-consumer plastic packaging recycling through intelligent material flow management. You would assist mainly the ecological and economic evaluation. More precisely, we investigate to which extent additional use of technology can create ecological and economic added value.

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:


  • Interest in material cycles and life cycle analyses
  • High motivation and good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good English skills (written language)
  • Current studies at a university or university of applied sciences

Optional add-ons would be:

  • Experience in carrying out life cycle analyses
  • Knowledge of OpenLCA

Your Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Collaboration in the research projects DACE and ReVise-UP in the field of modeling and evaluation of material cycles
  • Support through independent literature research
  • Supporting the institute with general tasks
  • Optional: assistance in modeling in OpenLCA

What We Offer:

The position is to be filled by 6/1/2024 and offered for a fixed term of 1 year.
A long-term cooperation is highly desired.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 8 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 13.00 € per hour.
