AEROPHARM GmbH is an innovative pharmaceutical company of the internationally active Novartis AG based in Basel/Switzerland.

At its site in Rudolstadt, Thuringia, AEROPHARM GmbH develops and produces cost-effective respiratory medicines for asthma and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) with the aim of improving the quality of life of patients worldwide.


Your key responsibilities:


  • Management of approx. 15 laboratory technicians, including resource planning
  • Strong collaboration with other Analytical Development Leadership Team, ensuring alignment on optimal resource distribution towards project need and priorities, reporting to Head Analytical Development
  • Coordination of the available resources in cooperation with the lab coordinators and project team
  • Management of the laboratory with regards to available equipment and maintenance of the infrastructure according to the rules and regulations
  • Working and guiding laboratory work in compliance with SOPs, GMP regulations and HSE standards
  • Ensuring all chemical, microbiological and physicalchemical laboratory work and data compilation for quality control purposes in accordance with the agreed timelines under GMP regulations
  • Management of reference materials and related documentation
  • Approval of GMP documents and ensuring the timely processing of OOX, deviations and changes
  • Plan the implementation of tests according to the methods described as well as scientific experiments (e.g. validation work) as part of the development activities under supervision, and implement and document them in accordance with valid GMP requirements
  • Driving for continues improvements of established processes, procedures and analytical methods

Minimum requirements

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Scientific BSc, MSc degree or higher, preferably analytical chemist; alternatively: experienced chemical laboratory technician with at least 5 years experience in respiratory product development and initial managerial experience
  • Good understanding of instrumental analytical methods and technologies, preferably with respiratory product development
  • Independent, wellorganized way of working, team player
  • Very good communication and leadership skills
  • Good GMP knowledge and experience
  • Good knowledge of English and fluent in German, both spoken and written
