Fully qualified lawyer with outstanding academic qualification, ideally from German jurisdiction.

At least 5 year's postqualification legal experience with some international law firm or inhouse experience.
Strong commercial background and understanding.
High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also desire to be challenged and think outside the box.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to act as business partner to internal clients.
Practical business judgment and ability to qualify actual practical risk.
Ability to prioritize and deliver projects in time in a fastmoving environment.
Excellent English and German language skills including the ability to draft and negotiate contracts.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon's outstanding legal team. We are looking for you. You are a talented lawyer and you are interested to work in our growing Consumer Business. You will be part of Amazon's Litigation team in the Legal Department in Germany.

As Corporate Counsel, you will work closely with our business teams to create and launch innovative new features, programs and services for Amazon.

This is an exciting part of our business where you will support your clients on a broad range of commercial legal matters and prepare and drive strategic decisions in a complex legal environment.

You will work directly with business teams, providing day-to-day advice, serving as lead counsel on new innovate programs and business models, analyse new legislation and translate them into pragmatic guidance for your clients.

You will be part of a broader team and work closely with our business lawyers across Europe.

Key job responsibilities

Management of legal disputes and regulatory challenges in Germany
Daytoday interaction with business clients and business lawyers
Outside counsel management
Coordination of research and preparation in litigation matters

A day in the life

You are working on cutting edge cases often at the very forefront of developing and emerging legal issue that often have not been decided before.

You are working on cross functional and sometimes international disputes. You will closely work with internal clients, business and outside counsel.
