The High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) is Germany's first national supercomputing centre.

It operates one of the fastest supercomputers in the world and offers access to supercomputers for universities and research institutions as well as industrial partners.

HLRS also holds a leading position worldwide in the research areas of parallel computing, cloud computing and high-performance data analysis and is significantly involved in international and national research projects.

Your tasks:


Qualifications:


  • A university degree, ideally in the area of engineering, natural sciences, mathematics or computer science
  • Good programming skills in at least one objectoriented programming language (C/C++)
  • Strong focus on creativity, proactivity, conceptual thinking and continuous improvement including the ability to work under own initiative
  • Willingness to familiarise yourself with new technology and incorporating them in interesting projects
  • Good language skills in English

Ideally, your profile will be supplemented by:

  • Initial experience or highly interested in one of the following fields:
  • Computer Vision
  • HPC systems
  • VR and AR
  • Human-Computer Interface
  • Parallel Programming (MPI, OpenMP) and optimization of parallel efficiency
  • Experience in Linuxbased environments
  • At least basic knowledge of the German language

The contract for this full-time position in a research project is restricted until the end of a project where the duration of the project is up to 3.5 years in accordance with the WissZeitVG, the actual duration will be dependent on the start of the employment.

Depending on the project situation and available funding, HLRS typically advocates for a contract extension.

The working conditions and also the salary are determined by the regulations for public servants, specifically TV-L (Tarifvertrag der Länder).
