The
VP of Global Account Management Automotive Europe will focus on developing the business in alignment with the overall strategy including maintaining of the assigned global key customer accounts for the Automotive portfolio and industry.

Being part of the leadership team, the key accountabilities of the VP of Global Account Management Automotive Europe will be twofold:
1) responsible for meeting and exceeding all budgeted sales goals without exceeding the approved selling expense budget;
2) maintaining and growing the existing book of business through successful contract renewal strategies and addressing scope change opportunities commercially within the existing business.


This role is critical for the success of DP World's growth strategy and to maintain global relationship to its key customers within the industry and potentially a dual hat role: they will have a similar responsibility for the other regions where the agreed Global Key Accounts operate (with the option to extend the role for other regions as we grow) and in parallel, they will be the Global Lead Auto within the Logistics pillar.


The VP of Global Account Management Automotive Europe will work and influence all leaders of all relevant support functions to ensure all commercial activities are supported (Operations, Operational Excellence, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, etc).

They will provide leadership, processes and direction to the commercial organization and she/he will develop talents being accessible, hands-on and leading by example.

The role reports into the regional Chief Commercial Officer and the position can be remote with Germany as preferred location.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Accountable for leading an engaged Account Management team, providing direction and promoting collaboration while ensuring they are enabled to carry out the goals and objectives of the business;
  • Meet and exceed financial growth targets for the assigned global customer accounts annually and expand our geographic and solutions offering footprint with these accounts across DP World service portfolio;
  • Maintain understanding of customers' expectations relative to operational solutions, costs and results;
  • Identify and develop relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an account;
  • Plan, schedule and facilitate Quarterly Business Reviews with assigned strategic accounts and maintain an uptodate pipeline of current and future opportunities;
  • Understand the customer's business (strategically, operationally, financially);
  • Understand the customer's buying process and identify all influences, intimately understanding their requirements;
  • Maintain an uptodate pipeline of current and future opportunities, quantifying number of opportunities, value of the opportunity and managing the probability to win;
  • Coordinate RFQs for new business opportunities and renewals of existing business with assigned accounts engaging other functions as required and own the commercial relationship and contract negotiations;
  • Follow the internal commercial process, procedures and thresholds;
  • Foster a close cooperation between Account Management, Sales, Operations, Operational Excellence and all other functions (IT, HR, Finance, etc.);
  • Partners with colleagues in other regions on broader opportunities for select customers;
  • Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviors in harmony with DP World's Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World's Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.

Key Qualifications, Experience & Skills:


  • Degree in the field of Business Administration, Logistics or other relevant field;
  • Significant experience in Business Development and a proven track record of having consistently achieved on sales quota at relevant scales;
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience within the transportation, logistics and/or freight forwarding industry (or similar service industry) with focus on the automotive industry vertical;
  • Experence in building and managing a team.

Definite asset:


  • Experience in all kind of Automotive business industry;
  • Experience within Automotive OEMs;
  • Exposure to and working knowledge of all facets of contractual requirements.
