Your Role- Develop and test concepts for medical robotics, robot-assisted surgery- Work on robotics, sensor signal processing and fusion, creation of models from sensor inputs as well as machine learning- Evaluate concepts both in simulation and on real setups, get hands-on experience with robotics in the medical field- Report and present your research results- Work closely with experts in robotics, sensor signal processing, modeling, and medical technology, as part of an international project- Work with researchers and engineers in a collaborative environment at the newly built ZEISS Innovation Hub Karlsruhe, right on site of the KIT-campus north

Your Profile- You are enrolled in a Bachelor/Master's program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics (preferably) - alternatively, in Medical Technology, Physics, or comparable- You have basic knowledge in robotics, modeling, and sensor processing- You have programming knowledge in at least one of the following: Python, ROS, MATLAB, C++- Knowledge in optical sensing systems and especially optical coherence tomography is a plus- Fluent English language skills- A hands-on mentality, an open mind, excellent problem-solving, communication and innovation skills- Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for innovative technologies as well as motivation to work in agile, interdisciplinary teams
