    GEA is one of the world's largest suppliers of production solutions and components to the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Our solutions include innovative cloud-based data, monitoring and network services that enable our customers to manage and fine-tune production processes with high precision. Together with running our daily IT operations internally it must be clear this can only be done with having a bulletproof and stable cloud platform.

    Roles And Responsibilities

    Onboarding and support new applications – based on cloud first strategy
    You will join the IT Security and Cloud Technology Service Delivery team that operates globally and provides related services and consultancy for GEA worldwide based on a corporate cloud first strategy. We are 15 team members based in Europe and the US.

    We hope to have you join us in either Düsseldorf (Germany) or in Den Bosch (The Netherlands.

    A role with ample room to influence change
    At the moment, we find ourselves in an interesting transitional phase as our Group IT organization rethinks everything from structure and responsibilities to how we operate within our global IT department.

    As our cloud application expert, you will take part in this transition by adopting and optimizing (external) applications on our infrastructure landing zones using Kubernetes and Terraform. You will do so through close collaboration with cloud platform engineers in our team, as well with external suppliers and business application owners.

    More concretely, you will:

  • Be the IT cloud expert responsible for the design, planning, management, maintenance, support and any other technological duties associated with GEA's cloud computing environment for digitalization and innovation services
  • Collaborate with internal and external DevOps teams enabling their applications to run on cloud infrastructure
  • Generate scripts and pipelines required for onboarding solutions and run applications effectively
  • Work according to Dev/Ops principles to manage your coding and scripting
  • Interact with application development teams to provide cloud infra support and make recommendations based on their needs
  • Research new vendor products / technologies that are relevant for our platform
  • Compare alternatives and prepare recommendations for improvements on cloud platform services to the Service Owner and GEA architect(s)

    • Your Profile / Qualifications

    Cloud based engineer expertise and a love of teamwork
    With excellent communication skills, you can interact closely with internal and external stakeholders. At the same time, you are always willing to learn more, which drives you to stay up to date with the latest trends and continuously adopt new developments.

    Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have solid experience with cloud infrastructure on which applications are maintained, all based on MS Azure Cloud Adoption Framework
  • Have broad in-depth knowledge of Docker / Azure Kubernetes
  • Have strong skills in applying IaaC and develop pipelines, preferred with Terraform in Azure DevOps
  • Hold one or more cloud hyperscale certificates, preferable on MS Azure
  • Are fluent in English

    • What happens once your application is submitted?
