Responsibilities:

Close cooperation and networking with operative units, internal and external development units, global competence centers, external solution providers, universities, and research institutes
Consulting, initiating and execution of data analysis, data science, and machine learning projects
Project leader with full responsibility on methodologies, quality, cost, timeframe, and know how protection for ML development projects
Facilitating of workshops for technical and business value discovery
Performing analysis on cost reduction and turnover increase potential
Providing industry best practices and standardization of data science methodologies
Serve as a key contact point within Evonik

Requirements:

Successfully completed university degree (Masters, PhD preferred), both experienced applicants and new graduates are encouraged to apply
Background in mathematical and statistical methods
Handson experience working with data science and machine learning methods (supervised and unsupervised learning, timeseries analysis/forecasting, anomaly detection, prediction modeling, reinforcement learning), including experience in selection and testing of the "right" algorithm for a specific problem, training, and validation
Handson experience working with either R or Python, knowledge of additional statistical/machine learning software is a plus
Handson experience working with current libraries and frameworks like Keras and Tensorflow
Working knowledge on databases
Basic understanding of business processes and economic value calculations is preferred
Strong written and spoken English, able to follow basic discussion in German
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team and network across the company as well as externally
Good workshop facilitation skills
Improvisation, coordination, and organization skills
Willingness to travel on a regular basis (mainly domestic, sometimes international)
