Partnering with leading academic researchers through its Immunology Innovation Program (IIP), argenx aims to translate immunology breakthroughs into a world-class portfolio of novel antibody-based medicines.

argenx developed and is commercializing the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) blocker in the U.S., Japan and Europe.

The Company is evaluating efgartigimod in multiple serious autoimmune diseases and advancing several earlier stage experimental medicines within its therapeutic franchises.

argenx has offices in Belgium, the United States, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and France.


For the expansion of our EMEA Finance team, argenx is looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Lead fully dedicated to DACH region (Germany, Austria & Switzerland), with priority for Germany.

This role will report to the Head of Finance EMEA.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Your primary areas of focus are:

  • Business partner for German commercial team to ensure clear understanding of financial impact of key decisions & provide insightful business, cost and financial information as they related to local initiatives and objectives
  • that will include the development and management of ad-hoc reports & analysis
  • Actively support the sales and expense planning and real-time forecasting process
  • Support accounting Team with monthly closing and ensure completion of required management reporting and submission of full analysis of P&L and ledgers.
  • Ensure compliance with group policies & instructions, audit, tax and statutory/government requirements for all countries with local operations and exposure
  • Future reporting systems development and implementation for supporting processes (Budget, Forecast, Strategic plan, Demand planning)
  • Overview financial processes for Austria and Switzerland
  • Lead the annual budget process/inputs for all EMEA and deck preparation for business reviews.
  • Propose prioritization of investments to maximize the growth within resource constraints across the region: resource allocation, ratio analysis.
  • Submission of planning figures for each legal entity to ERP or other future reporting system for all monthly / quarterly / annually planning cycles
  • Finance head/ partner for DACH market with a GM ensuring clear understanding of financial impact of key decisions, providing insightful business, cost and financial information as they related to local initiatives and objectives and driving operational support. Include the development and management of ad-hoc reports & analysis
  • Provide commercial finance support on revenue topics including revenue planning, demand forecasting, contracts review, pricing, revenue recognition, gross to net, healthcare claw backs, daily sales reporting and R&O analysis
  • Indirect and direct tax
  • managing VAT Topics across countries as well as direct tax for DACH Region
- along with Transfer Price documentation
  • Business analysis along with managing KPIs, optimizing resource allocation, ratio analysis
  • Provides monthly analysis of Headcount related expenses and FTEs

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Accounting / Economics
  • Relevant working experience as a Senior FP&A
  • Minimum of +7 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience within the biotech or pharma industry.
  • Excellent IT knowledge including Microsoft Office. Experience of Oracle Cloud/Hyperion is a plus.
  • Strong analytical modeling skills.

  • Must be German mother tongue or equivalent level (1 Interview will be fully in German language)
  • Fluency in English language
  • Position will be based in Germany 100%
  • Living close to Munich area highly desirable
