Deep Blue Recruitment is seeking a German-qualified Legal Counsel to join a leading European e-commerce company. As an integral part of the team, you will support the growth of their European operations.

Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will be the first legal hire in Germany and will manage a wide range of legal topics.

The company operates with a hybrid working policy, with only one day on-site required per month.

Tasks

Handling a broad spectrum of legal matters, including Commercial, Data Protection, Compliance, and more.
Establish processes and shape the legal function to run efficiently as the company continues to grow.
Provide practical and clear advice to the leadership team and internal stakeholders.
Work with and oversee external legal counsel in Germany.
Handle adhoc requests and projects as they arise.

Requirements:

Qualified lawyer in Germany with a minimum of 2 years experience inhouse.
Fluent in both German and English language.
Demonstrated expertise across various legal topics, with a strong understanding of commercial law, privacy/data protection laws, and other EU regulations and standards.
Pragmatic and commerciallyminded approach to legal matters.
Excellent communication skills.
