About the role:


We have the vision to build up one of the most state-of-the-art and dynamic legal teams in the Fintech space.

We are looking for a lawyer with a truly innovative mindset to steer and provide legal guidance on a range of topics related to a future Fintech leader.

You will be given a lot of responsibility and freedom to innovate the legal problem space from day one. Ideally, you will be the first and global go-to legal contact and source of truth for key commercial and contractual topics, work side-by-side with your commercial and product colleagues and play a key strategic role in the future success of the Mondu

We do not want you to get buried with routine tasks. Instead, we strive for automatization and standardisation of processes as much as possible.

Ideally, your role will be to provide strategic guidance and training to business on strategic contractual and regulatory going-to-market topics.

For major and key strategic commercial partners, your participation at the negotiating table will be needed.


What you'll do:


  • Main contact person for all commercial, contractual and partnership matters
  • Explore tools and be actively participating in developing automatization and standardisation of legal processes for the legal problem space and drive innovation in the legal problem space.
  • Drafting and developing commercial templates, playbooks and negotiating key commercial contracts (with merchants, partners, payment service providers)
  • Provide advice on commercial legal aspects of merchant cooperation, partnerships and thirdparty service providers and support the business stakeholders in negotiating contracts
  • Leading legal trainings for business stakeholders
  • Closely liaise with nonlegal stakeholders and legal colleagues from different teams to drive, explore and solve relevant topics from a commercial legal perspective
  • Report to the CLO of Mondu and train your consulting and leadership skills.

Requirements:


What you need to succeed:


  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant inhouse legal or law firm experience
  • Fully fluent in
    German (this is a must) and in English
  • Relevant experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing commercial contracts.
  • Qualified to practice law in Germany (first and second bar exam or European qualification exam) definitely a plus
  • Previous experience in finance, banking and AML is not a must, but definitely a plus
  • Enthusiastic about partnering with business to understand strategic goals and achieve business objectives
  • Have an excellent ability to understand business goals, understand legal and risk complexity and suggested businessoriented solutions
  • Able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to nonlegal stakeholders
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively in a fastpaced, fastgrowing environment
  • Handson mentality, no ego personality
  • Enjoys working in teams and working sidebyside with great specialists to achieve a common goal
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Selfdriven, solutionoriented and diligent
  • Curious, openminded, multijurisdictional and progressive mindset and a good sense of humour.

Who will you work with?:

Miyu joined Mondu in April 2022 as Chief Legal Officer.

She has partnered with fast-growing tech and fintech companies, building and scaling internal legal and compliance departments and teams while working in a collaborative and cross-functional setup.

She has built the legal and compliance team from scratch.

We have established a framework for efficient legal advice and assisted the company with product launches, market expansion, and automated legal and compliance workflows.
