Position:
Technical Manager - FRoSTA Vegetabile Plant at Lommatzch

Job Summary:

As a Technical Manager at our vegetable plant, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of our operations.

This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, project management skills, and the ability to lead a team of technical professionals.

You will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and quality of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Oversight: Provide leadership and direction in all technical aspects of plant operations, including process optimization, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to perform their duties effectively.

Project Management: Coordinate technical projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols, maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Production, Quality Assurance, SCM and procurement, to achieve overall plant objectives and resolve technical issues.

Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers, evaluating performance and negotiating contracts to ensure optimal service and value.

Training and Development: Develop training programs to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of plant personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience in a technical leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial setting (20+ people team)
Strong knowledge of engineering principles, process optimization, and equipment maintenance.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical mindset, with the ability to identify problems, analyze data, and develop innovative solutions.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve excellence.
Language, fluence German and English
