    Johnson Electric Aachen is a globally operating company of the Johnson Electric Group. In our Aachen development center, our team works in the development of hydraulic systems and sintered metal applications for the automotive industry and industrial applications.

    As a Systems Integration Engineer in Aachen, Germany you will play a crucial role in the systems engineering department, supporting global project teams. System design, system architecture, requirement handling, system and component testing and customer contact are part of the daily business, leading to the creation of highly integrated mechatronic systems. You will be part of a cross-functional team, focusing on the integration of hydraulic systems for the automotive industry by combining oil-pumps with brushless motors, controllers, software, and additional components depending on the target application.

    Contribute to the growth of the business by assisting in the continuous improvement effort of processes, design, analysis and testing through bench and vehicle integration.

    Ensure a high quality and customer focused service to the business concerning the responsibilities listed below.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Develop mechatronic systems according to the V-Model in compliance with automotive standards with focus on electronics and software.

    Requirement Anlysis:

  • Understand system requirements with focus on motor, electronics and software subsystems
  • Define sub-systems and interfaces
  • Coordinate with global expert teams

    • System Development:

  • Design and develop systems and system architectures
  • Coordinate sub-systems and integration steps

    • System Integration

  • Collaborate with global teams to integrate hydraulics, electronics and software
  • Ensure seamless integration of sub-systems

    • Testing and Validation:

  • Support in defining the testing strategy and scope
  • Support on system sub-system and integration level

    • Collaboration:

  • Work closely with customer and inter-company development teams
  • Coordinate interfaces and collaboration

    • Education and/or Experience:

  • Master's degree in in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Embedded systems, Mechatronics or related fields
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with electromechanical systems
  • Experience with BLDC motor controller HW design and circuit analysis
  • Experience with microprocessors for BLDC control applications
  • Experience with CAN, LIN communication protocols
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety, Cyber security is a plus
  • Knowledge of V-Model development processes and ASPICE is a plus
  • Practical experience with electronic test equipment is a plus
  • Practical experience with Vector Hardware is a plus
  • Solid experience in common development tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink)
  • Familiarity with tools which manage requirements (e.g. Doors, Helix) is a plus

  • Proficient in English and German (both spoken and written)
