full-time contract (40 weekly working hours), initially fixed-term employment contract for two years - extension possible (permanent contract)


The HR Generalist is a generalist role and comprises the operative HR functions for all staff members in both locations.

You will be a competent contact person for our staff in your field of responsibility, from their recruitment to the school until the day they leave it.

The HR Generalist will interact with both the staff of Leipzig International School and job seekers contacting us.


Your tasks and responsibilities:


  • Prepare employment contracts and employment contract amendments
  • Maintain and expand the efficient use of the HR Personnel information system
  • Gather, maintain and check master data and prepare all information relevant for the monthly payroll
  • Onboarding of new international and local staff including support with housing, residence permits, processing paperwork and background checks
  • Offboarding of leavers including information pack, issue required confirmations and follow up with paperwork
  • Maintain and track HR statistics
  • Prepare employer references
  • Process requests for parental leave, issue certificates and confirmations
  • Provide confidential adhoc advice and assistance to all staff members
  • Track and monitor absences
  • Responsible for the maintenance of uptodate accurate personnel files
