We look for a manager that leads our Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management systems strategy and its automation globally.

Someone with passion to keep our workforce safe, but with a good understanding, experience and ambition to develop and implement this within our DHL Supply Chain division.

Your key accountabilities include:


  • Contribute to development of health, safety and environment strategy in line with business strategy and requirements, corporate guidelines and policies
  • Draft plans and ensure implementation of health, safety and environment operational plans, measures and budgets to achieve defined results
  • Organize and ensure delivery of large projects and initiatives to improve organization's environmental and safety performance
  • Lay down standards, practices and tools to achieve the desired standards of health and safety
  • Ensure consistent and thorough implementation of health and safety frameworks and standards, ensuring compliance and adherence to internal and external safety standards, and relevant regulations
  • Design policies and ensure identification and mitigation of potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices and working conditions within the workplace and external environments
  • Recommend solutions for the transportation of hazardous material with an understanding of the risks and compliance issues
  • Define and ensure adherence to adequate emergency evacuation procedures and training
  • Coordinate orientation activities and daily inspections in the operations facilities, grounds and administrative areas, changes in layout and installation of new equipment in order to meet safety rules and standards
  • Schedule and ensure execution of audits, investigations and studies to ensure that organizational and government standards, and local laws on health, safety and industrial hygiene are met
  • Share advice and training on safety protocols and promoting safetyconscious work performance
  • Build relationships with the community, environmental groups and law enforcement bodies to enhance environmental performance of the organization
  • Study issues, determine opportunities and introduce best practices for health, safety and environment focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency
  • Influence others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with business leaders across DPDHL
  • Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g. external service providers
  • Advise customers and key stakeholders on processes, systems and tools

What are we looking for from you?

  • Strong understanding and experience of IT systems (Intelex preferred) essential
  • Experience managing large projects and programme management essential
  • Success in delivering projects and systems implementations essential
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to facilitate large meetings
  • Experience within Health, Safety and Environment essential
  • Experience within logistics beneficial
  • Fluent English
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
