The OIL Tankstellen GmbH is a subsidiary of Prax Group, a British multinational, independent, global energy group. We are now looking to recruit HR Generalist for our offices in Hamburg.


To work in partnership with leaders and key stakeholders to shape, develop and deliver HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of the business.

Operating in the leadership team, to advise, guide and support staff and managers by providing high level people management and support across HR & Training functions, which in turn support both the Retail and Commercial Team in Germany and the surrounding countries in which we operate.

(Switzerland, Austria and Denmark).


Overall, the job holder sets and aligns the talent strategy with the business priorities to drive results, defines and drive the delivery of talent processes and programs, and actively participates in the functional leadership teams.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Providing expert HR advice and guidance to managers and staff on HR matters
  • Partner with the Business Leadership Team to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth of the business.
  • Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management and employee development goals.
  • Participate in the continual development of HR programs, such as recruiting retention, compensation, benefits, and Learning & Development.
  • Delivering management information focusing on key metrics on recruitment, staff movement and employee relations, absence.
  • Educate team members on compensation practices, including overall compensation, performance feedback, performance calibration, and career transitions.
  • Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development.

Personal skills/attributes required:


  • Previous experience in a similar HR role
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving, and decisionmaking skills. Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to business issues.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated credibility and integrity in communications to ensure information flows upward and downward.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently.
  • Use knowledge of the business strategy or the ability to probe for required understanding of business strategy/context in order to properly align solutions or problemsolving approaches.
  • IT literate. Knowledge of SAP or other HR tools such as Workday is a plus.
  • Languages, fluent in both German and English.
