Enghouse Systems_ is hiring for a Payroll Accountant. This is a _Hybrid_ role with the potential for being _Remote_

About the role and what you will be doing:_**The Payroll Accountant will be responsible for 6 payrolls in Germany, Austria and Czech Republic including liaison with the local payroll providers to prepare the monthly payroll, posting payroll journal in Great Plains (GP) for all entities in the region, preparation of bank payment for Corporate approval and raise of Payroll intercompany invoices in GP.

Furthermore, the position will be responsible for bank account reconciliation as well as monthly and yearly VAT submissions.


This position shall be filled based in Germany, either locally in our Leipzig office (same city where our German payroll provider is located at) or remotely (home office based).

It is a part-time position with 30 hours weekly. Free working time organization from Mondays to Fridays, taking into account of the cut-off dates for Payroll.

  • Position Responsibilities:_
  • Monthly Payroll for all legal entities in Germany, Austria and Czech Republic:
  • Prepare and control monthly payroll in close cooperation with local external payroll providers) to ensure payroll is paid in due time
  • Ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met
  • Post payroll journals in GP
  • Prepare bank payments for Corporate approval
  • Raise Payroll intercompany invoices in GP
  • Be contact person for employees on payroll matters
  • Bank Account reconciliations
  • Monthly and yearly VAT submissions
  • Be contact person for employees and providers for company pension scheme in the region
  • Track proper sick leave documentation for employees in the region described above
  • Be contact person for social security audits and exams executed at local payroll providers
  • Close cooperation with local HR Manager

  • 35 years of experience in processing payroll in Germany, preferably for Austria as well
  • Very good Payroll Accountancy knowledge for Germany, ideally for Austria as well
  • Solid understanding of Finance operations (terminologies, practices) and accounting transactions
  • Good understanding of DATEV as payroll program
  • Fluent in German language, in writing and speaking
  • Good skills in English language, in writing and speaking
  • Experience with IT systems and knowledge of Excel
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
