Position Summary:


Reporting directly to the President of World Courier, the Regional Vice President of Nordics, Central & Eastern Europe will lead, direct, and control the activities of the NCEE region so that it achieves its short and long-term financial and operating objectives.

This includes increased profitability, productivity, increasing market share as well as developing a talent pool as set by the overall World Courier business plan.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Great understanding of WC business and solutions
  • Overseeing daily operations and performance of Nordics, Central & Eastern Europe region (NCEE)
  • Support and/or lead some of World Courier's global strategic initiatives together with other RVPs
  • Assessing, evaluating, and reporting on staff as well as key business indicators
  • Being responsible for the Regional P&L
  • Setting short, mid and long terms goals of WC Business
  • Implementing strategic initiatives to meet revenue targets and regional growth/development plans
  • Strategizing and implementing operational and structural changes with other senior executives, regional staff and regional managers
  • Providing oversight, leadership and support to the Sub-Regional Directors and other Functional Leaders with solid line as well as dotted line, part of the NCEE Management Team
  • Researching and identifying new business ventures for the company, along with the Commercial leaders and representatives
  • Expand the presence of Transport and CSS business in the region, generating Customer Billings and collaboration with the business development of other regions
  • Performing regular analyses of business operations and enhancing current business practices and envision midlong term plans
  • Preparing, delivering, and presenting reports and other types of presentations at key executive meetings, such as the WC Global Lead Team call, MBR call, CAPEX reviews, Business Cases presentations, Budget presentations, etc.
  • Ensuring that spending and budgeting are in line with business objectives and ensuring countries are following this guidance as well
  • Developing, implementing, and managing people along with HR leaders, policies and plans
  • Driving the development of other strategic areas such as Continuous Improvement, Health & Safety (as solid line managers), plus collaborating and partnering with Finance, Marketing, Training, QA, HR, Legal, Risk Management, Compliance, Communication, Pricing and other related areas
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure company growth and stability (Global, Regional and Local)
  • Partnering with peers, global leaders and other relevant stakeholders of the organization
  • Promoting a positive work environment, aligned with the Purpose and Values of the company
  • Being open for innovation, looking for partnerships, alliances, etc
  • Being available for extensive business trips
What your background should look like

  • Experience and Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field is a must. MBA preferred.


10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, sales/business development and/or logistics industry, clinical trials or healthcare with increasing regulatory or quality responsibilities.


Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the pharma industry and key relationships
  • Demonstrates executive presence
  • Strong coaching and sales experience; strong sales management abilities, and ability to further develop talents and manage people pipeline
  • Knowledge of the biologics industry and related procedures, regulations, and standards, as well as quality programs is a plus
  • Knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations
  • Ability to formulate, communicate, and implement short and longterm strategies
  • Presentation skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to negotiate and manage a challenging market environment
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong decisionmaking and problemsolving skills

  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent German strongly preferred
