Cognitively efficient explainable AI (R3.

5):

The project's goal is to support human cognitive effectiveness via AIsupported tools, especially in the context of learning processes in intelligent tutoring systems. The prospective tasks are to develop novel AIsupported tutoring strategies for learning processes and to evaluate these strategies via empirical studies. The development process should follow the SAIL principles, that is, relevant stakeholders should be included during the entire life cycle and the development should aim at a sustainable usage in actual teaching & learning settings.
Your Tasks

- interdisciplinary research regarding AI-supported strategies for cognitive support (40 %)
- evaluation of developed strategies in empirical studies (20 %)
- contributions to activities within the network SAIL and interdisciplinary exchange (20 %)
- publications and presentation of research results (20 %)

- advanced knowledge in machine learning
- programming ability in Python
- very good English language skills (oral and written)

Preferred experience and skills

- knowledge of deep language models
- knowledge of explainable and interpretable machine learning
- prior experience with conducting empiric studies, especially in education
- knowledge of educational data mining or learning analytics
