As the "Corporate Underwriting Cyber" department, we support Munich Re Group's client facing units with our multi-disciplinary cyber insurance expertise and facilitate writing profitable cyber insurance.

We are accountable for the risk management function for our worldwide cyber business in reinsurance and primary insurance.

This includes assessing accumulation potentials, maintaining portfolio transparency, developing underwriting tools and standards, and driving projects on cyber innovation and investments.

We are looking for a passionate and engaged intern who supports our cyber data analytics team.

The team is building a proprietary Munich Re cyber database and provides key insights for cyber re-/insurance, one of Munich Re's strategic areas of growth.

Your Job

  • Processing of internal cyber exposure and claims data with our existing data pipeline
  • Closely communicating with cyber underwriters and claims managers to discuss data issues and needs to and to ensure high quality of the processed data
  • Supporting further enhancement and automation of our technical pipeline for data processing. This includes tasks in our SQL database and programming in R.
  • Enhancing our Power BI dashboards

Your Profile

  • University studies in mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science or similar
  • At least one year of programming experience (e.g. R, Python, Java,...) and willingness to learn more
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL) would be an advantage
  • Very good command of English and/or German (intermediate command of English is a must)
  • Reliable mindset, comfortable with communicating with contacts outside of our team
Students from countries outside the EU require a German residence-/work permit.
