The intention of the newly founded Collaborative Research Centre (CRC TRR) 358 "Integral structures
in geometry and representation theory" - funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and
based at Bielefeld, Paderborn and Bonn - is to establish an internationally visible centre of mathemat
- ical research in the region of East Westphalia. The CRC pursues a broad research program in the
fields of algebraic combinatorics, automorphic forms, arithmetic and complex algebraic geometry, cat
- egorical representation theory, geometric group theory, harmonic analysis on locally symmetric
spaces and theory of affine buildings.

The CRC TRR 358 will create an attractive research environment with many guests, seminars and
workshops and offers extensive funds for business trips.

In the context of subproject A5, the following position is available at the Institute of Mathematics, part
of the
Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics at the earliest pos

- sible opportunity:

Research Associate (f/m/d)
(salary is according to E 13 TV-L)

with 75% of regular working hours. This is a qualification position in the sense of the Wissen
- schaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG), which serves to promote a doctoral procedure in the field of
analysis and geometry. The position is to be filled for a limited period of time for the duration of the
doctoral process, depending on the qualification achieved so far, but usually for a period of 3 years.
An extension for the completion of the doctorate is possible within the time limits of the WissZeitVG.

Your tasks:

Scientific collaboration within the subproject A5 "Affine Kac-

Moody Groups:
Analysis, Algebra,

and Arithmetic", notably research concerning loop groups, infinite-dimensional Poisson geom
- etry and the classical Yang-Baxter equation

Active participation in projectinternal activities of the CRC and the working group "Infinitedi

- mensional Analysis and Geometry"

Participation in general work of CRC TRR 358, planning and support of general joint CRC ac

- tivities

Your profile:

Good scientific university degree in Mathematics (Master)
Good skills of spoken and written English
