About the job

BA Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of wind power assets.

We manage the maintenance, operation and continuous improvement of wind generation assets, safely and with the highest levels of availability and profitability.

We carry out the sourcing and development of wind projects as well as having the full responsibility for wind project execution.

We also perform the structuring and execution of project partnerships in accordance with our overall wind strategy.

For our Business Area Wind we are now looking for a

Working Student - Offshore Wind Resource and Production

for our office in Hamburg.


The offshore wind resource and production department is responsible for the end-to-end calculation and assessment of production of all our offshore windfarms from the planning to operational phase.

Your main task is to support project development activities in the pre-construction phase, analyse wind conditions and perform pre-construction yield assessments.


Responsibilities:

Complete diverse data analysis tasks to support advanced modeling team as:

  • Handle large datasets/time series in Python,
  • Carry out standard tasks such as combining different sources, filtering, plotting, documenting, etc.
  • Carry out parametric studies using modeling tools in Python
  • Find optimal parameter values and analyze the sensitivity of solutions.

Profile:


Mandatory:

  • Masters student in engineering or science
  • Fluency with written and spoken English
  • Ability to work independently on data analysis tasks
  • Knowledge of basic principles of wind energy
  • Welldeveloped Python skills, including experience with Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib and other common packages
  • Familiarity with git

Preferably:

  • Working experience or extensive academic experience with data analysis in Python
  • Knowledge of statistical principles
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Familiarity with dashboard development using Streamlit or similar packag
