Parsons Group International Limited is seeking to hire a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst for a contract position with our client, based at Grafenwöhr, Bavaria, Germany.

The position is part of a team of GIS professionals based at the U.S.

Army Sustainable Range Program (SRP) Geographic Information System (GIS) Regional Support Center at Grafenwoehr, Germany, providing GIS support for military training areas throughout Europe.

This is a full-time position.


Project Tasks Include:


GIS Database Development, Map Production, GIS Data Acquisition, Field GIS Data Collection, Coordination with other geospatial data managers / data stewards and stakeholders.


Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Esri ArcGIS Pro user 3 or more years' experience (versions 13)
  • Experience of geodatabase management, editing, GIS data development and standardization, including performing quality control on attributes, metadata, topology and spatial accuracy.
  • Experience of running geoprocessing tools or scripts in ArcGIS Pro.
  • Experience of field survey using handheld GPS
  • Capable of producing customized cartographic and analysis products using ArcGIS.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with the SDSFIE geodatabase model.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Experience working with LiDAR and remote sensing data, including processing of point clouds.
  • Experience of working with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and Portal for ArcGIS.
  • Experience of writing and troubleshooting automation scripts in Python for ArcGIS.
  • Experience of working in a multiuser versioned geodatabase environment.
  • Experience using other GIS software such as ERDAS Imagine and QGIS.
  • German language skills, written and spoken.

Personal Skills:

Required:

  • Self-Motivated, independent work ethic, capable of prioritizing own work with mínimal supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate and build relationships with customers, and provide technical GIS briefings to GIS users and managers through meetings, working groups, conferences, and outreach events.
  • Ability to travel within Europe and the U.S.
  • Strong reporting capability, required for compiling reports on GIS support activities.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
  • Valid & Clean Driving License
  • Clean Police Background Check from current place of residence.
  • Eligibility to work in the EU is a requirement of this position. (Parsons will assist in acquiring work visa's for US citizens). Ability to travel away from primary work location approximately 3 to 4 weeks per year.

In order to meet background screening requirements for access to IT networks, the applicant must either be a US citizen or be resident in Germany for at least 12 months prior to eventual start date.
