The Institute for Cell Dynamics and Imaging, University of Münster is offering a position at the earliest opportunity, limited to 3 years.

Part-time with 65%

Remuneration according to TV-L E13, depending on qualifications and assignment of duties

Our institute is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to systematically study the distribution and function of plasma membrane transporters in budding yeast. We are an interdisciplinary team of biologists, chemists and computer scientists and combine classical molecular biology, cell biology and genetics with high-end light microscopy and quantitative image analysis. Our studies in yeast and mammalian cells address fundamental features of cellular self-organization. Current projects focus on various aspects of cell cortex organization including cortical actin dynamics, the role of actin in acute stress responses and systematic analysis of plasma membrane organization.

We offer a scientifically inspiring environment with great opportunities for collaborative projects at the interface between different disciplines. The project will offer ample opportunity to learn and further develop cutting edge techniques in live-cell, high-throughput and super resolution microscopy.
