JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Implement, support, and/or manage Global Supplier Development strategies and performance to ensure flawless launch of new programs.

Responsibilities will include leading APQP process as part of new product launches, coordinate technical reviews, and develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements.

Responsibilities will also include conducting Supplier Audits and Quality training at the suppliers and drive performance improvements at the supplier to meet established objectives.


This position will be located at one of our European ETTS locations (Germany - Kirchheimbolanden or Portugal - Viana do Castelo).


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- The primary function of the Director Regional Supplier Development is to provide leadership and coordinate the efforts of the regional Supplier Development Managers and Engineers.- Provide leadership in training, mentoring, and developing supplier partners as well as BorgWarner SDEs.- Implement & manages the supplier development direction in area of responsibility.- Oversee/Manage and lead a team of direct reports (RSDE Managers).- Manage talent within team including conducting performance reviews.- Deliver budget forecasts and LRP for their area / region of responsibility.- Conduct / Coordinate evaluation of New Suppliers by performing technical reviews with the supplier and onsite visits to determine supplier capability and risk.- Interface with Global Purchasing & SC Managers for the development and release of new global suppliers to BorgWarner according to the Commodity Strategy.- Ensure the technical reviews are supported with the appropriate technical know-how to evaluate the supplier capability to produce the parts in question.- Work closely with Global Purchasing team and SC Managers to ensure all new product launches & current production issues are supported from a technical point of view.- Ensure the regional SDEs manage the APQP activities ensuring a successful launch.- Play key role in helping reward best performing Suppliers and eliminating worst performing Suppliers through quality metrics and active participation in the Supplier Sourcing Board process.- New Technology: In close collaboration with Process Excellence in GSDE support Engineering, Global Commodity Management and Purchasing to identify and develop new and emerging Supplier technologies that support product leadership position in the marketplace.- Assist in developing the goals and objectives to support the overall GSM goals and objectives.- Facilitate the development, sharing, and implementation of 'best practice' methods and ideas across all suppliers.- Ensure the Supplier Development system is communized for all regions.- Drive continuous improvements in the process & ensure all new requirements are included in the common process/system.- Coordinate and support all regional events; Supplier Summits, Supplier Training Sessions, etc.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE- 10 plus years of combined experience in SCM, Operations, or related discipline required- 5 plus years of managerial experience including supervision of employees required- Demonstrated leadership experience required- Bachelor's degree required in related discipline required- Master's degree preferred
