We are looking for an engaged
Legal Counsel (Manager level)or
Legal Officer who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC's mission, to join our centralized Legal Department and work with us in a multinational environment.
The Scope
The energetic team of the Legal Department supports all legal and compliance aspects of the FSC Group and advises FSC's management and its specialized departments in their daily business affairs.

Tasks:
Main Role and Responsibilities
You are a generalist with special interest in contract and commercial law and compliance related work fields with an international orientation.
You support a variety of legal matters, with a reporting line to the Senior Legal Counsel (Programme Manager for Corporate Affairs & Compliance).
You are confident to cooperate with different stakeholders to reach practical and service-oriented solutions.The responsibilities and tasks include the following:
- Preparation of legal assessment reports and carrying out research activities.
- Drafting and reviewing of contracts and preparing new contract templates for recurring use.
- Support in the enforcement of FSC's intellectual property rights and especially false claims cases conducted by certificate holders.
- Support on disputes including but not limited to company ending disassociations.
- Support to and development of new legal compliance programs, e.g., in light of corporate and regulatory compliance, for example antitrust and data protection law applicable to an international organization.
- Training and guidance to members of other departments of the FSC Group including the wider global network.
- Cooperation with and substitution of other members in the Legal Department.
- Individual projects as assigned by the Senior Legal Counsel or the Head of the Legal Department.
Profile:
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Education and Training:
- University degree in law, e.g., LL.M., J.D.
For lawyers educated in Germany:
Second State Examination.
- Professional experience as an attorney in a law firm or inhouse counsel in a legal department of an international organization is a strong advantage, but highly qualified graduates from law school are welcome to apply.
Working Experience, Style and Skills:
- Experience in dealing with authorities, courts and law firms is highly desirable, but highly qualified graduates from law school are welcome to apply.
- Quick cognitive ability and good time management skills: ability to perform well while handling simultaneously several functions.
- Serviceoriented attitude to work focusing on solving legal challenges with a strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
- Proven ability to plan and organize work proactively. Experience in project management is a big plus.
Languages:
- Fluency in English and German (spoken and written) is required as being FSC's daily working language for the Legal Counsel.
- Spanish and/or French is an advantage.
- Good skills in the use of the standard software packages, in particular MS Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with Dynamics 365, MS SharePoint, MS Vision and MS Project is helpful.
- Experience with contract databases or general knowledge management platforms is an asset.
- Ability to work as a team player in a multicultural, interdisciplinary and multilingual team.
- Strong motivation and dedication to support FSC's values and mission through excellent individual performance.

- Location: Bonn, Germany. Sporadic travel may be involved.
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
- Duration of contract: 2 years with a possibility for extension.
- Working Hours: Fulltime 40 hours per week.
