About the Role


Here at Bark we are on an exceptional growth path and are undergoing exciting international expansion and so we are now looking for a commercially minded team player who wants to build and scale our German & French business.


We are looking for a German-speaking Country Manager, who will take ownership of designing, leading and implementing our growth strategy in Germany & France.


In this role, you will focus on driving marketing, commercial and partnership development, and take responsibility for the full country P&L of both countries.

To achieve these goals we are looking for an ambitious individual will bring excellent analytical skills, strong account and client management experience, a successful record of growth performance and the capacity to lead, motivate, coach and mentor teams.

In addition, the capability to establish and develop valued long-term partnerships will be a key to the success in this role.

The role is based at our office in Berlin with remote working available 2-3 days a week.


Responsibilities

  • Build and own our ambitious and exciting growth strategy in France & Germany.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the P&Ls of France and Germany, our first nonEnglishlanguage markets.
  • Build deep customer understanding, and identify & execute opportunities for growth you will be a true expert in the European region knowing what levers need to be pulled to achieve our financial goals.
  • Come up with incredible, fresh and exciting concepts for the French & German markets and work closely with our marketing and product teams to ensure we localise successfully.
  • Take full responsibility for developing winning marketing strategies and tactics to drive growth and exceed revenue KPIs.
  • Be the contact point of Bark in Germany & France when it comes to PR, industry events, and communications.
  • Enhance brand value and awareness in the market and build the reputation of Bark
  • Work closely with our UKbased Tech and Product teams to enable and unlock any potential opportunities or roadblocks.
  • Proactively identify growth levers supported by the European Partnerships Lead and the Global teams.
  • Own the category management and launch plans for Germany and France. Manage recruitment of all key positions and new hires including contract signature and onboarding of new team members.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in commercial B2C or B2B marketing or trading companies, with a track record of exceptional impact, preferably in a fastgrowing, scaling company
  • Strong instinct with a deep and robust understanding of consumer marketing and strategy in Germany and Europe.
  • Resultsdriven and analytical mindset: you make decisions based on data and numbers
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data (including KPI reports) and translate them into actionable steps
  • Fluent communication skills in German and English
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ambition to develop a small highperforming team within a startup/scale up
