Responsibilities

Production of Nanotube NT emitter cathodes.
Work in collaboration with CAD department for conceptualization of new tool design ideas based on proven inadequacy of existing designs.
Actively contribute with troubleshooting and root cause analysis to ensure any issues or problems that may arise during production are repaired efficiently to meet the deadlines.
Drive production process improvements through test, design of experiments, data analysis and design enhancements.
Complete and maintain required documentation per VEC standards and QA requirements.

Adherence to quality execution of all processes, procedures and work instructions.

Tasks related to NT emitter production.

Synthesis and processing of nanotube materials
Purification of nanotube material using wet chemical process. Nanotube paste formulation and production.
Metallization of ceramic substrates. Brazing metal conductors to metalized ceramic substrates.
Screen printing of nanotube pastes on ceramic substrates
Post deposition firing / sintering of nanotube emitters
Cleaning and vacuum degassing of emitter assembly parts
Assemble of NT emitter assemblies. NT emitter assembly vacuum bakeout
NT emitter assembly testing / screening. Test result documentation and analysis
Test the field emission of cathodes (current vs voltage, emission stability, etc.).
Creation of Reports detailing your work and its results
Preparation of working instructions, inspection reports and internal test documentation.
Examine data and create reports, such as root cause analysis, field emission testing and design change recommendation. Collaborate with the QA technician on parts procurement and parts inspection, packaging and shipping.

Tasks related to quality assurance.

Own quality assurance for all aspects of your work, following VEC standards and processes, and regulatory requirements.

Interface routinely with QA on:

Inventory shortages of laboratory and cleanroom supplies.
Problems related to the maintenance of equipment in the NT laboratory, the chemical laboratory, the testing laboratory, and the cleanroom.
Problems with the inspection of parts and materials.
Root Cause Analysis for issues/problems that arise during production.
Risk Management and Risk Mitigation.
The development and maintenance of documentation required for yearly internal and external QM audits.
